William Moriarty, Service Manager

William was born and raised in and around Boston and enjoys being immersed in the world of Italian food and wine, extending his knowledge base daily.

Possessing a degree in French Language and Literature from Hofstra University, Long Island, William studied at Université de Paris VII: Diderot in 2011. He notes that this time period spent living in the 16th arrondissement in Paris was pivotal in sparking a deep interest in French cuisine and cooking technique. Though an admittedly poor cook, William has studied the history of French food and is fascinated by the stories and art behind passionately prepared food.

In 2012, William joined the team at Pigalle working under the wing of Kerri Foley. When Pigalle closed, William taught English at a high school in Reims, France, where he enthusiastically explored the world of French wine.

William commenced working at the Barbara Lynch Gruppo at No. 9 Park in 2014, followed by a brief stint at Menton, before joining Sportello as Assistant Manager.  

In 2016, William was promoted to Service Manager.  In this role, he manages the restaurant floor, ensuring that guests leave happier than when they arrived, and he also manages Sportello’s social media program.

William lives by the credo “Il faut profiter,” a French expression that emphasizes taking advantage of all that life has to offer!
